American Girl Embraces Orthodontia

American Girl dolls are some of the most popular dolls in the U.S. When I got my new catalog this month, I noticed that the American Girl folks had embraced orthodontia. Their newest accessory for dolls is an orthodontia set that includes stick-on braces, a retainer, toothbrush and headgear.

The trouble with spaghetti

What's your favorite dish? I guess my tastes are simple but I love spaghetti. Actually any kind of pasta will do, but spaghetti is my go-to comfort food. The trouble with spaghetti is that it gets caught in my braces. Not that this deters me from eating spaghetti on a very regular basis.

If you're in the Daytona Beach area, give my new favorite place for spaghetti a try. Don Vito's is on ISB about 1 block west of the intersection of ISB and Beach St. Then take a walk through historic downtown and enjoy the day!

Like a kid again

Some of you parents out there may be helping your child through the loss of a first tooth. Thankfully all my kids are beyond the tooth-losing stage, but I've begun to feel like I'm a kid at that stage again.

No, I'm not losing teeth. But as my teeth realign, some of them are a little looser and I've developed small gaps or spaces between some of my bottom teeth. Dr. Liz says gaps are good. It means my teeth are moving into correct alignment and that the gaps will close as all my teeth move into place.

But I can't help but feeling a little like a snaggletooth. Wish there was a braces tooth fairy!
